Should Universities Charge Higher Tuition Fees?

Greatchanges have taken place since the reform and opening policy, especially therapid growth of economy. The average of Chinese salaries has been rising, so itis the expenditure of life. Nowadays, universities charge higher tuition feesbecause of the rapid growth GDP. Some people support the universities do thisbecause the schools need funds to development; while others think it’sinappropriate to charge higher tuition fees because not everyone can afford it.As far as I am concerned, universities should charge reasonable fees so theexcellent students can enjoy the advanced education in China.

自從改革開放以來(lái)，我國(guó)發(fā)生了很多變化，特別是經(jīng)濟(jì)的快速增長(zhǎng)。中國(guó)人的平均收入增加了，而支出也一樣。現(xiàn)如今，因?yàn)镚DP的快速增長(zhǎng)，高校也跟著提高了學(xué)費(fèi)。有些人支持高校的做法，認(rèn)為學(xué)校需要經(jīng)費(fèi)來(lái)維持發(fā)展；其余的人則認(rèn)為收取更高昂的費(fèi)用不合理，因?yàn)椴皇敲總�(gè)人都能支付得起。在我看來(lái)，高校應(yīng)該收取合理的費(fèi)用，這樣那些優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生也能夠享受中國(guó)的高等教育。

For onething, the higher fees can be great burden to the wage earners families. Acollege student will need 6000 Yuan each year on average, which means, thewhole college fees will be 24,000 Yuan. It is not easy for a wage earner familyto save such a large sum of money, they may be indebted. What’s worse, some ofthe students even borrow money from banks because their families can not affordit.

一方面，更多的學(xué)費(fèi)對(duì)工薪家庭來(lái)說(shuō)會(huì)是個(gè)沉重的負(fù)擔(dān)。一個(gè)大學(xué)生每年的平均費(fèi)用為六千元人民幣，這就意味著，整個(gè)大學(xué)的學(xué)費(fèi)為兩萬(wàn)四千元整。這對(duì)一個(gè)工薪家庭來(lái)說(shuō)，存這樣一筆錢是非常困難的。他們也許會(huì)負(fù)債累累。更加糟糕的是，因?yàn)榧彝ダщy。有些學(xué)生不得不向銀行貸款。

Foranother, facing the higher tuition fees, some of the students will give upuniversity. Go to universities is the only way for poor students to changetheir fate. But the high tuition fees deprive their rights of education.According to the survey, half of the students come from remote areas, wherehave comparative lower income. The higher fees will be no problem for the richsecond generations, but the poor second generations will drop out of school.

另一方面，面對(duì)更為高昂的學(xué)費(fèi)，有些學(xué)生會(huì)放棄上大學(xué)的機(jī)會(huì)。對(duì)于貧困生來(lái)說(shuō)，上大學(xué)是唯一能夠改變他們命運(yùn)的機(jī)會(huì)。但過(guò)高的學(xué)費(fèi)剝奪了他們受教育的權(quán)利。通過(guò)一項(xiàng)調(diào)查顯示，一半的學(xué)生來(lái)自偏遠(yuǎn)地區(qū)，那里的收入水平相對(duì)較低。對(duì)于富二代來(lái)說(shuō)，學(xué)費(fèi)不是問(wèn)題，但是窮二代就要面臨輟學(xué)。

In a word,the higher tuition fees not only have great influence on the students, but alsothe development of our country. I think the government and the universitiesshould take this into consideration. They should charge reasonable tuitionfees, try to provide more chances for the youth and make sure everybody can havethe right to go to college.

總的來(lái)說(shuō)，更加高昂的學(xué)費(fèi)不光會(huì)對(duì)學(xué)生產(chǎn)生巨大影響，也會(huì)影響到國(guó)家的發(fā)展。我認(rèn)為政府和高校應(yīng)該仔細(xì)考慮這件事。應(yīng)該收取合理費(fèi)用，努力為每個(gè)學(xué)生提供更多機(jī)會(huì)，保證每個(gè)人都有權(quán)利讀大學(xué)。
